Service Description

Letting Go of Control While Staying Emotionally Available Activities will be assigned for work between weekly sessions. Parents often struggle with the loss of influence and the uncertainty of estrangement. This workshop helps participants release control-based behaviors while remaining emotionally and relationally available—creating conditions that make reconnection more possible over time. 5 weeks: 1 hour meetings Week 1. Family Structure & Background Please briefly describe your family structure (e.g., number of children, ages, marital status, and any significant relationships such as partners or stepfamily dynamics). Week 2. Estrangement Overview Which adult child(ren) are you estranged or distanced from, and how would you describe your current relationship? Week 3. Control & Influence What aspects of this situation do you find yourself trying to control or influence most? Week 4. Boundaries & Acceptance What boundaries has your adult child set (if any), and which are most difficult for you to accept? Week 5. Looking Ahead What does “staying emotionally available” mean to you right now, and what makes that challenging?
